Opportunity to Make a Profit on eBay
Good and logical thinking; However Ebay has a history of overpaying for aquisations, and I'm not a fan of share buy-backs.
I would not count on Ebay doing great business during this downturn as they have abandoned almost everything that has historically been Ebay.
They are now becomming Amazon lite,as if the world really needs another Amazon,so alot of their numbers of increased listings and new sellers are not necessarily what they used to mean.
IMO you may be able to buy this company alot cheaper in the not to distant future, but you still wont know what you have,it's not the same old Ebay anymore.

Slamming the Brakes on GM - Barron's
GM should fail.We should let it reorganize, without all of its current limitations,If the gov bails it out, nothing changes, except the gov wastes more taxes......who is going to bail out our gov?"To big to fail"seems to be a mantra like code for new deal cronyism.

      The Skype's the Limit
      Meg's Skype mistake:
With Ebay's share price in bargain basement area.,Im a little surprised the new ceo isnt doing everything he can to buy back shares.(buy it now)Their conference calls are entertaining, almost funny.
Why not sell Skype and put the money to work in the open mkt and support the share price? They could even auction it!

eBay in the Basement - But Not for Long
I've never seen anything like the visceral hatred of Ebay. Many of thier former users are saying they "will never come back",and I believe them.We are talking about many thousands of people.Other web-auction sites are happily picking up their business;while I dont think there is any site as good as Ebay once was,Im realizing Ebay isnt either.
In their (Ebay) quest to attract Large sellers, which may or may not be a good idea, they have purposely abandoned their base business, thier uniqueness, and apparantly are making it even more difficult for the few small sellers remaining.IMO Investing (long) in Ebay now, with the company mis-firing in so many directions.is at best a crap shoot, especially in this economy.Yes the Paypal business is good,(if not monopolistic?)now its all you can use on Ebay.Skype cost Ebay several billion,I think, and lots of competiton there;I've been short Ebay in the past and am still thinking that way.

eBay Launches worldofgood.com, a Social Values Marketplace
      What a crock!
Ebay is in a world of hurt and so they promote political correctness?
How about Ebay becomming an auction site, instead of a Paypal appendage?

Granting Credit: Is eBay's Bill Me Later Part of the Solution or Part of the Problem?
      Mr Donnahoe.
I would like to know where you you intend to take Ebay?
After listening to one of your conference calls,I got the feeling many of those in the financial audience on the call wanted you to turn Ebay into Amazon. Is this the case?
You continually push the buy it now meme...........fixed price, fee format.etc.
Why would what was once the best Auction site on the internet want to be any thing but the best Auction site?
Why make Paypal more monopolistic, then it already is?Didn't you already loose this arguement in Australia?
I currently buy over $35,000 per year on your site, and the sellers I buy from are not happy, and are looking to leave Ebay......Are you listening?
I read all of your posts on this site, and I feel your ideas are not helping the selling situation on Ebay, and where will you be if they find another venue.

The Oil Bubble Will Meet the Same Fate as Tech, Housing
your jokeing off course,The "oil bubble" is happening while the world consumes 86 million bbls a day.Consumes is he key word.
What happens to the USA if we get supply interuption? WE import 70% of our energy......remember the lines at the gas pump, that happened when we imported 24% of our energy needs.
Sad to say but I believe this is no bubble. All of our conservation in this commodity will be absourbed by China and others.
This is a wake up call long overdue, and the worlds most deliberative body is tone death.

I just read an article regarding sapphires( waste sapphires) being able to handle most of the suns ray spectrums and possibly making solar wafers capable of retaining 78% of the energy, compared to 14-25% they are capable of now.
anyone else see anything on this?
