Joseph L. Shaefer is the CEO of Stanford Wealth Management, LLC, a Registered Investment Advisor with $30 million in assets under management. A retired General Officer, he spent 36 years of active and reserve military service, the first six in special operations, the next 30 in geopolitical and financial intelligence. He is adjunct professor of Intelligence and Counterterrorism at American Military University.

His career as an economic and stock analyst began as a retail and institutional broker with Kidder Peabody, then as a principal in Investment Management Associates, which he later sold to Charles Schwab, where he became a Regional, then Senior, VP, with his last job the head of Fixed Income Investments. He retired to found Stanford Wealth Management, LLC, in 1990.

Author of the best-selling investment book, Bringing Home the Gold, he is the editor of the subscriber-based monthly investment letter, Investor’s Edge®, which explains the forces and events that shape the investment arena and recommends those industries and companies that will benefit most. In the nine years since inception, the Investor’s Edge® Growth and Value model portfolio is up 293%, while the S&P 500 is up less than 8%.

He has been featured in Forbes, Barrons, Financial World, the Wall Street Transcript, and numerous other publications, and has been a guest on ABC, NBC, PBS, FNN and CNBC.
